Have Too Many Sources or Too Many Displays in Your Video Distribution Network? Take A Look at The BL-32-32-MATRIX

If you've been trying to set up a video distribution network for a large sports bar, bowling alley, or other business that requires a high number of sources and monitors, you may have run into the problem of how to find an HDBaseT matrix with enough inputs and outputs. Most HDBaseT systems only allow up to eight sources to be distributed to eight monitors. If you have 15, 20, or even 30 sources and monitors, this kind of system won't work.

One way to solve this problem would be to have multiple matrices in the system. But this would make the system very difficult to control. So what should you do?

The BL-32-32-MATRIX may be exactly the solution you've been looking for.

The BL-32-32-MATRIX is not an HDBaseT component. Instead, it uses ordinary HDMI cable to distribute up to 32 video sources to up to 32 different television monitors. Normally, the fact that this device uses HDMI instead of HDBaseT would be a drawback, since it would prevent the device from sending a signal over long distances. However, when combined with one or more HDBaseT extenders, this deficiency can be overcome. As a result, this HDMI matrix can be transformed into a powerful way to greatly increase the number of sources and monitors possible in a large audio/video system.

To use this device, complete the following steps:

1.     Plug each of your sources (Blu-Ray players, satellite receivers, cable boxes, etc.) into the BL-32-32-MATRIX.
2.      Plug each of your monitors into an HDBaseT receiver.
3.      Plug each of the HDBaseT receivers into an HDBaseT transmitter.
4.      Plug each of the HDBaseT transmitters into the BL-32-32-MATRIX.

The BL-32-32-MATRIX has 64 connections. Although 32 of these connections are labeled “inputs” and 32 are labeled “outputs”, each of these connections can actually be set so that they are either inputs or outputs using a PC, regardless of what the labels say. For this reason, it's possible to have more than 32 sources or more than 32 monitors using this device, although not both at the same time. This feature also allows for easier setup using a PC, since it gives you the ability to change the function of a particular connection if you plugged the wrong device into it.

The BL-32-32-MATRIX supports point-to-point, point-to-many and many-to-many network configuration, giving you the ultimate in flexibility and control over your audio/video system. It also contains an RS-232 port so that it can be controlled from a PC.

When not connected to a PC, the matrix can be controlled using its LCD screen. For example, the LCD software contains a “switch” menu that allows the user to switch an output from one television to another and a “function” menu that allows input and output states to be saved for later or restored to their previous state. The gain level can also be set for each individual output using the “function” menu on the LCD.

When connected to a PC, the matrix is even easier to control. The software included with the product produces a list of inputs and outputs that can be changed through a point-and-click menu interface. Names can be added to each connection using a keyboard for even more ease of use.

If your video distribution network has a large number of sources and monitors, take a look at the BL-32-32-MATRIX. It may be exactly what you need to make your system work.
